Why can’t a cat tree look like a tree? Or a cat, for that matter? Whisker Studio has a new line of cat trees that flirts with this idea. Each design brings a new twist to the traditional cat tree, one in the form of a stylized cat silhouette and the other an abstract tree. Each has three carpeted shelves for kitty’s perching pleasure. The new cat trees measure 48″ tall and are made of high quality birch plywood. $199 at whiskerstudio.com.

I really like the tree shaped one. The cat shaped one is a little strange.

I love the idea, but the platforms are just too small! Instead of 10×18 they need to be 13-ish x 22-ish. And on the “tree”, that upwards placed twig on the middle step needs to go — it’s keeping kitty from resting his/her head on the extension like s/he is doing on the “cat” tree! With those tweeks it would be just what I’m looking for!

They look great. What about stability? My guys run and jump. Would it be easy to topple over?

My cats are always climbing, but up a tree is the perfect place for them! With 11 cats looking for the high spots, this would save my furniture, while giving my babies a place to relax and safely scratch. I adore this climbing tree and cat! I’ll give it a place of honor in my living room if I win it! Plenty of room for everyone to share!!!

The second tree is very reminiscent of the “cat cactus” my ex made for our clowder when we lived in the Mojave (it’s pictured in CatioShowcase). And the first tree is very appealing.

I love these! And the cat looks very much like Morgan. What’s nice is how easy these would be to clean, or move.
Great find Kate!

Oh, the trees are okay — they don’t look all that comfortable, and I don’t see anything to scratch.
But…BLACK KITTY!!!!!
