It actually looks very much like the Animal Planet 2-in-1 Convertible Pet Bed I got for $10 at an outlet store the other day. Good thing, since there are no Ikea around here. The cats do love it – I put it under an end table, and they love the little cave feeling.

IKEA is my middle name (LOL) and I LOVE this idea!

Can you get them big enough for Ragdoll cats?

My 2 cats would love to cuddle & stay warm in the cozy attractive “Brilliant DIY Kitty Hideaway Ikea Hack”.

I think I will try my hand at making one, two or three of these.

I’m glad you featured this so more people would see it. Someone suggested on the IkeaHacker site it might be better to use Velcro or buttons with loops to attach the beds together, so washing them would be easier.
That site has some cool cabinets made into litter box hideaways, and some creative cat trees too.

Wow! Fantastic idea! Great way to give your kitty a home for such a low price! Something like that in typical pet stores or online pet stores can be upwards of $80! Much more money efficient way for a lovely hideaway! That way you can buy your babies more toys! LOVE this idea!!

Very small space though would be great for kittens.

Still not in stock for our AZ store! I don’t know if this item will be replenished, but isn’t available online. I do like that this has planted a seed for people to create their own if they find something similar and it looks like a few users already put the ‘hamster on the wheel’ to making their own!

I bought two of these, turned them inside out, stitched them together with 6 strand embroidery thread – then turned them right side out. No stitches showing, looks great and our new Ragdoll kitten, KooPurr, loves hiding in it. Thanks for posting picture as well as where to buy it, I never would have thought of doing this project and we all love it.
