If Moderncat heaven exists, then this is it! It’s really my dream come true, a high-end pet boutique dedicated to the finest design for felines. Behold PurrFect Design in Antwerp, Belgium. PurrFect Design has operated an online store for a while now, but they recently opened a retail store in Antwerp and I’m completely blown away. Just look at this collection of all our favorite things!
I see the beautiful sculptural scratchers from Marly Gommans, and the incredible alphabet scratchers from Catworks.
They offer a selection of modern cardboard scratchers from Cat-on, and the full line of multi-function furniture from Binq Design.
The selection goes on, and on, and on! Pieces from Petsmood, Cat-Interiors, Company of Pets and Wohnblock. My head is spinning! I’m booking a flight to Belgium now!

Was this open in December 2011? I was just in Antwerp!!! I didn’t see it. darn!! This store looks amazing, and Kate I definitely think you should look into opening your own store!!!!

I also totally fell in love with those stuffed kitties shown on a couple of the scratchers in the photos…well, I tracked them down! They’re “Lanky Cats” by Manhattan Toys, and you can get them from Amazon (which, whew! I was afraid they were a European kitty) for not too much!

Hi all,
First we want to thank Moderncat for all the kind words and compliments. We work hard to gather the nice designs and it is very nice to read this on Moderncat. I’m of course a Moderncat fan for years
We have also received a lot of e-mails with questions about the VAT and shippings costs concerning shipping to US, so I would like to clarify this here as well.
The webshop-software is not able to make the distinction in countries that should or should not pay VAT. Sorry about that.
BUT that should not be a problem.
Anyone in US or another country outside EU can send me their ordering-wish-list by email. I will then calculate the cost without VAT and the shipping costs and we’ll handle it all by email. Of course you will also get a correct invoice from us.
Do note that not all furniture can be shipped to US, but a lot of it can. So that is good news.
We handle all e-mail as fast as we can, but to take the time difference in account
