With a 9 month old kitten in the house, I’m constantly looking for distractions that will hold his attention for as long as possible, so I was thrilled when the folks at Aïkiou sent me the Stimulo activity center for cats to test. Stimulo was originally designed to slow down speedy eaters. The toy comes with a sturdy base that holds tubes of different lengths. You put kitty’s dry food in the bottom of the tubes and she has to dig around to get it, slowing down her chow time and helping with digestion.

We don’t eat dry food, so I filled up the Stimulo with small toys and set it down for Andy to explore. It does the trick! He will work away until most of the toys are out, then he plays for a while and goes back to clean it out. I stuff the toys back in periodically and he’s thrilled.
Stimulo is available from Amazon for $24.95, plus you can get the level three tubes separately for more advanced kitties. Here’s a video of some cats using it as a feeder (if you can’t see the video below in your email, click here to watch it on the site):
ENTER TO WIN! TWO WINNERS!
Two lucky readers are each going to receive a Stimulo Activity Center for Cats plus a set of level three tubes. To enter, please leave a comment on this post. The winners will be chosen in a random drawing and announced on May 3, 2012. One entry per person. This giveaway is open to readers everywhere!

What an ingenius idea! I’d LOVE to WIN this especially for my over-weight kitty R2. Maybe if he had to hunt for his food, he’d lose some lbs.

Hi,
I have three cats and would like to enter to win the Stimulo Activity Feeding Center. Since there are lots of activity tubes, would one feeder be enough? My veterinarian and I are concerned that the cats are obese. One of the females is very obese, the other female overweight and the male cat is just about right. He shouldn’t get any heavier.
Thank you.

I’m happy to say that my girl doesn’t eat too fast. But I think she would enjoy using this as a toy station and fishing out toys. Or even the occasional treat.
It’s a great idea for both fast eaters and kitties in need of stimulation. Thanks for sharing this new product.

This is a wonderful idea, with 4 shall I say “fluffy” kittys this would be a great idea, I have that little ball you put food in and they knock it around but out of 4 only one has figured it out, or the other 3 are smarter and just let the one do all the work..lol Plus anything to keep indoor only cats attention is a great great idea.
Good luck to all

We just introduced a few feeding toys at the shelter where I work. They are a big hit! This one looks perfect for a shelter (easy to clean and reload) and would be a great addition to keep those shelter kitties entertained!

Our cats love these games. Highly recommend toys by Nina Ottosson, too, at http://www.nina-ottosson.com (I have no financial interest). There are several of her dog toys that are perfect for cats. Keep those felines thinking and working for their food!
