With a 9 month old kitten in the house, I’m constantly looking for distractions that will hold his attention for as long as possible, so I was thrilled when the folks at Aïkiou sent me the Stimulo activity center for cats to test. Stimulo was originally designed to slow down speedy eaters. The toy comes with a sturdy base that holds tubes of different lengths. You put kitty’s dry food in the bottom of the tubes and she has to dig around to get it, slowing down her chow time and helping with digestion.

We don’t eat dry food, so I filled up the Stimulo with small toys and set it down for Andy to explore. It does the trick! He will work away until most of the toys are out, then he plays for a while and goes back to clean it out. I stuff the toys back in periodically and he’s thrilled.
Stimulo is available from Amazon for $24.95, plus you can get the level three tubes separately for more advanced kitties. Here’s a video of some cats using it as a feeder (if you can’t see the video below in your email, click here to watch it on the site):
ENTER TO WIN! TWO WINNERS!

This would be great for our furry babies! Something interesting to explore while I could do some housework! Perfect!!!!

We’re always looking for toys that will hold our kitty’s attention. This looks like it would be perfect for our active Bengal. She loves to pick up small toys with her paws.

One of my 5 cats can get pretty agressive with the others if he isn’t stimulated enough. This toy would definitely address that issue! Love it!

April 26th, 2012 at 9:49 am

April 26th, 2012 at 9:50 am
Oh my goodness! This would be fantastic for my, erm, plump kitties. Out of our 11 kitties, most are at a good weight but 2 could do with a little more excercise and a little less chow.
April 26th, 2012 at 9:50 am
Cool idea. I have the dog version, which slows them down and gives them a challenge.
April 26th, 2012 at 9:50 am
I don’t know who would love this more, my 6 kitties or my husband! haha.

April 26th, 2012 at 9:51 am
my lil fat kitty would looove this
April 26th, 2012 at 9:51 am
This reminds me of the Whak-A-Mole game. I usually feed wet food, but I keep dry around just in case I run out. The cats like it much better and gorge themselves when I put it out. Problem solved!
April 26th, 2012 at 9:52 am
Wow- what a cute idea!
April 26th, 2012 at 9:52 am
Ok, that is awesome!
Although, I might have to feed Li’l One when I plan to do nothing else because I would just want to watch her.
I also like the idea of toys in the tubes so that she can play when I am not at home.
Thanks for posting the video, too.

my cats would love this!
April 26th, 2012 at 9:52 am
If our kitties didn’t need to be fed on a timer, this would be a fantastic way to slow down Gil’s super-speed eating…but looks like a fun toy anyway!
April 26th, 2012 at 9:52 am
This would be helpful with our cats. One’s a pudgy fella.
