Oh, how I wish I could go on this trip! It’s a 12-day educational tour of Italy presented by Friends of Roman Cats. The tour will visit several Italian cultural sites and some of the country’s most interesting cat sites. All profits from the tour go to programs helping the stray felines of Italy.
According to Friends of Roman Cats:
“Italy is different than the US in dealing with its stray cat population. Since 1991, Italy has had a law that bans killing healthy stray cats and dogs. Community cats live openly and are fed by numerous gattare; others are cared for in sanctuaries. The Cats & Culture Tour will visit some of these sanctuaries and see how another culture deals with its free-ranging felines.”
Apparently, there are a few spots left on the upcoming tour scheduled for October 9-21, 2012. Download the complete itinerary and pricing here.
