Moderncat reader Melissa found an old 1950s-60s TV literally on the curb in her neighborhood and decided to get creative! She gutted the thing, cleaned it up, and turned it into a stylish cat bed!

This kitty hideaway is finished with mod wallpaper and it even has modern art on the wall. Melissa added a faux flokati rug inside and a battery operated LED light strip at the top so the TV “turns on”. Gordon (on top) and Frog (inside) both love the groovy new hangout!

Thanks to Melissa for sending the pix!

AHA!!! That’s what I can finally do with my old broken Mac Monitor! Maybe I should gut and outfit the tower as well. Would look Smashing in my sewing room next to the Tardis cat condo I’m planning!

Flatscreen TV’s have ruined cat’s favorite sleeping spots! This is a great solution.

I actually Laughed Out Loud when I saw this! Kitty goes retro! This would especially look good in to a mid-century modern house. Great idea, fun recycling, & goes under my bookmarks.

My vet office has turned their old Macs into cat beds for their adoptables. They are cool and stylish. I also like the Etsy site that sells vintage suitcases as cat beds.

Coolest cat bed you’ve had on here yet!

Not my personal cup of tea, but a funny, creative and environmentally responsible use of that old TV. What’s in it and on it now are surely better entertainment than anything shown on the old tube. thanks for sharing it.

I have been on the hunt for an old MCM console tv like that just as decoration for ages, but haven’t been able to find one. Can’t believe someone just threw one out.
