Here’s a whole new kind of cat litter scoop with some truly unique features. It’s the SmartCat Big Mouth Litter Scoop from Pioneer Pet Products. I came across this little gem while attending the SuperZoo Pet Product Expo. It was another of those stop-in-my-tracks moments. The display showed the scoop hanging on the side of a litter box — one of my favorite features in a litter scoop, I love having a place for the scoop to go! The scoop also stands up all on its own, another awesome feature. And finally, it has a nice wide mouth and a really comfortable handle to make scooping easy. I love this thing!
The SmartCat Big Mouth Litter Scoop comes in dark green and blue. Both are available on Amazon for less than $6.

I wonder if this would help with the pain I feel in my wrists while scooping? I need one.

Ooh I love this, and it’s available in the UK (from zooplus.co.uk) – hooray! I’m currently sharing my flat with 7 cats, so, as you can imagine, I do a lot of litter scooping! I think the larger size of this scoop will help get the job over with more quickly – which can never be a bad thing. And the fact that it can hook over the side of the tray or stand up on its own is just fab – I having scoops stuffed down the side of the tray on the floor.

Does anyone know how wide the mouth is at its widest point? I use BioBags and an outdoor pet waste composter, and I can’t use scoops that are really wide because I can’t get the contents of the scoop in the bag.

Hi Kate,
The design is thoughtful. I like that it can hang over the side of an uncovered box or stand on it’s own if you have a covered box. The comfy handle is a nice touch too. It should do well.
Looks like it scoops out quite a bit with each scoop too. The handle looks less breakable than other handles I’ve seen.
Thanx,

Was going to buy these from Amazon as gifts, but the shipping is more than the product!

Any one know if breeze pellets get stuck in the holes? I’m looking for a replacement but it needs to work with that system.
