The folks at Catswall Design, makers of the magnificent modular cat climbing wall posted previously, just released a new raised feeder for multi-cat households. The new feeder comes with two, three, four, or five removable stainless steel bowls and a convenient cat-shaped handle.

Urban Pet Haus is back with two new product ideas and they want your help again! This time we’re showing you two designs for some new wall perches with built-in feeding dishes/planters. They want to hear what you think, and everyone who leaves their feedback will be entered into a drawing for another set of Wave perches, one large and one small.

UPH has been working on two new perches: Flat and Plank. Both measure 24″ wide by 10″ deep by 6″ tall. Flat is made of powder coated steel and Plank has a faux zebrawood finish. Both mount securely to the wall and have a thick felt pad attached on top. I’ve seen the prototypes of both and they are very sturdy and well-made.

Both perches have a really cool feature, a built-in planter/feeder. This special insert can be removed for easy cleaning, plus it can be flipped over. One side creates a shallow reservoir that can be used for food or water. Turn the insert over for a deeper reservoir where you can plant cat grass for kitty to munch on. The Flat insert is zebrawood finish on the outside with a ceramic liner and the Plank insert is solid ceramic.

Moderncat reader Sarah tipped me off to these great stainless steel snack bowls from CB2. Sarah got a set to use for her cats’ food and water bowls. She reports that they are wide enough so kitty’s whiskers don’t touch the sides, plus the angle makes it easy to eat and drink.

Designed to be snack serving dishes, these bowls make the perfect modern cat feeding station. Sarah has two beautiful Burmese cats, Eliza, who immediately took to the bowls, and Max, who’s apparently a bit of a fraidy cat and was scared of his reflection in the polished surface at first. These beautiful ceramic works of art are not just another pretty piece of sculpture, they are lovely little drinking fountains designed just for cats. Ceramic artist Keith Davitt has been refining his drinking fountain design for years and he has several styles that cats seem to love. What a great way to keep kitty hydrated and add a lovely fountain to your home.

These fountains are very simple, making them easy to keep clean. Each one comes with a unique glazed bowl and a pump, and most designs include a raised pottery piece that creates a little waterfall. The pump is hidden between the ceramic pieces and the cord goes neatly out the bottom portion of the bowl. All materials and glazes are certified food safe.

Keith sent us a fountain to test and, as you can see below, Simba loves it (and so do all the others!) The fountain was very easy to set-up and it looks so nice on the ledge above the kitchen counter. You can see the three simple pieces included in the package: bowl, pump with cord, and pottery cover for the pump. I adjusted the pump to create a little bubbling fountain because I like the sound of trickling water, but the pump can also be adjusted to keep the water moving silently.

The kitty below is Bijou, Keith’s cat who is the inspiration for his fountains. Keith is always experimenting with new fountain designs. You can see his latest work in his Etsy shop. Fountains range from $62 to $178, depending on the complexity of the design.

I recently posted another pet drinking fountain and several people left comments saying how much they like the Glacier Point Pet Fountain, so I was excited to give it a try when the folks at Sierra BioScience sent me one to test. The Glacier Point fountain doesn’t have a slick modern design like some of the other fountains I’ve shown you, but when it comes to pure functionality and health and safety, the Glacier Point is a winner. I’ve tried several different fountains, and honestly, this is the fountain that the cats actually use the most.

Barry Farris, the inventor of the Glacier Point pet fountain, has a background in designing medical products, so he knows a lot about creating a safe and healthy device. Although I try to avoid feeding dishes made of plastic, I had to share this because it’s so darn cute. This is the Kitt Pet Feeder from Bangkok-based Qualy Design. It’s a pet food storage container and bowl all in one. The food storage container sits on top of the bowl between meals, creating a cool modern cat sculpture.

I’d have to avoid using this because of poor Mackenzie’s kitty acne issue, but with proper cleaning kitties who are not prone to acne might be able to enjoy a snack from this bowl.
